Thatcher's First Birthday Party

It took me a while to figure out a fun, somewhat unique, theme for Thacther's first birthday party.  I finally came up with a Dr. Seuss party.  It was actually really fun to find all kinds of fun food and decoration ideas on Pinterest (thank heavens for Pinterest)
 Thing 1 & Thing 2 Cupcakes
 Cat in the HAT Jell-O
 Green Eggs & Ham

 Carhart Overalls from Daddy

I thought up & then made this for Thatcher.  It has all different latches and pictures of family behind each window & door.

Thank you for all who came and brought such fun gift for Thatcher.  It means a lot to us.

Still in Heaven in Month Eleven

I am fully aware that Thatcher turns 1, YES ONE, in less than a week!  Thatcher's eleventh month was crazy busy with Trunk or Treating, Trick or Treating and all  the other fun things that go with fun, Fall Festivities!  This month has been so fun for both Nate and I.  Just when I thought life could not get any better, we now get to experience all the things that were once "old news" to us.  Watching Thatcher take in all the new things that we have been doing has been a blast.
Another amazing thing that happened this month was Thatcher starting to actually understand and follow simple commands..."put your blanket in the crib" and "put your toys in the basket" are among the few that he does daily.  I am proud of him daily and even though I am excited for him to turn one, it is also bittersweet.

Pumkin Carving/Drilling ;)

It has been quite a few years since Nate and I have carved pumpkins together.  What better way to re-start a tradition than Thatcher's first Halloween?  Of course, he could really care less, but it was fun for us.  It was also pretty quick and easy-ish.  Nate and my mom worked on drilling 2 of the pumpkins while I traced Thatcher's hands and feet to then trace onto his pumpkin to cut out.  Not so easy carving out tiny fingers and toes, but I love how it turned out.  A great way to document his first Halloween.

Thatcher decided he would rather be a ghost for Halloween...spooky
